Best soft plastic for a manmade lake?
So I live in this subdivision, with numerous manmade lakes stocked with bluegill and largemouth. I've caught plenty of bluegill, but have never tried for a bass. I have a fully stocked tackle box, if you were going to fish these lakes for largemouth what type of lure and presentation would you use? I'm using 10lb test Stren on a six foot Ugly Stik.
Best is kind of hard to answer since the lure a bass will want can vary from day to day or hour to hour, but you really can't go wrong with a texas rigged plastic worm.
But, with that said, since you mention bluegill......I would try the bait that helped Dean Rojas win the tournament on Toledo Bend recently. The bait imitates bluegill and is a Big Bite Baits "WarMouth". I haven't used that bait, but watching Rojas catch the bass on that lure on Bassmasters, I want to try it.
You may also want to try some swimbaits. One that might be worth a try is Koppers Live Target Bluegill swim bait.
