What is the best reel and rod for bass or/catfish fishing?
I haven't been fishing in a long time, and im looking to buy a reel and rod, i want a really good reel/rod... money isn't really a problem, but I dont want to spend over 155 for the rod alone. I'm planning on going fishing alot now that I got some time. I just want a great combo that will compliment each other

Setting you up with a good rod and reel for both catfish and bass is hard. They require a different setup for each and for bass fishing it depends on what type of lure you will be using and how you plan on using it to determine the rod and reel you will need. For catfish, sense you have not been fishing for some time, I would recommend that you get a good medium size spinning reel and an ugly stick rod. Spool the reel with 12 or 14 lb. line and you are set. This can also be used for basic bass fishing.
