My Betta Fish has popeye and has been standing on his tail, is it dying?
Is there any hope left for my fish? I had an accident where his bowl fell and shattered. He flew out into the hall underneath my door and put him in a tank ASAP. I don't know if he had popeye beforehand but I cannot be sure. He has a hard time reaching the surface of the plastic fish tank and hasn't been eating too well. I cannot get to a pet store to buy medicine since I am at college without a car. I have been cycling the water and I put some warmer water in tonight.
Is there anything I can do without medicine?
DONT add different temperature water. if your going to raise the temperature. put hot water in a plastic bag and seal it. then let that float at the top of the tank. this will raise the temperature at a slow enough rate where he doesnt go into shock or anything. as for him standing on his tail and not reaching the surface hes probably hurt and having a hard time staying boyant but if hes made it this long he should live. when fish die, they die when something happens, not AFTER
