Also, i assume that fresh water fishing doesn't require baits right? (i have always been a salt water fisherman.)
i use a 7 foot Shakespeare ugly stick with medium action. use it for trout, catfish, salmon, halibut, calico bass, largemouth bass, perch, it is a good all around rod, from a boat on the lake or ocean, from the bank of a lake ,or river fishing, or surf fishing off the beach,, I have caught 18-25 pound salmon and 2 pound trout, , use the appropriate size line and use your drag accordingly,,,
freshwater fish eat too, why wouldn't you use bait????
