Lure Spinner
Rigging up a lure for sandbass.?
I was told to use a deep diving lure tied to the line from the pole, then attach a 3 to 4 foot long piece of fishing line to the front treble hook of the deep diving lure with a spinner bait tied to the end of it, and cast out behind the boat and troll with it slowly. Does it really work?

I, myself, have never heard of a rig like that. I suppose it would work but I can just imagine the tangled mess you would end up with being the line is tied to the front hook. Maybe the back hook would work better.
I have used the big rapalas before in the green or the blue mackerel colors. I thing CD 16s? They are about 10-12 inches long and have caught only big bull bass with them. That was at the north end of Huntington Flats toward Horseshoe kelp. I never again found that spot but then again sandbass fishing isn't what it used to be after the oil spill from the ship.
