Crankbait Color
What types of lures and sizes would be good for catching bass and gar in this pond?
I've caught 2 largemouths in this pond both on a black, silver and white crankbait but haven't been consistent. I see shortnose gar all the time and I've also caught one on the same crankbait but I think that was pure luck. Besides the bass and gar, all I've seen are redear sunfish. I'm posting a overhead pic of the pond below. It doesn't seem like the water is more than 8 ft. deep at any point. You can see about a foot or two down into the water from most areas of the top portion. The skinny strip at the bottom is more of a deep green color without much clarity. It isn't private and I've never seen another angler there while fishing. I primarily fish from the top side of the water located in the top left in the picture, but I have moved all over without any real luck. Thanks for your help guys.

What would be a good idea would be to keep a rough fishing journal.
That way you could look back and tell what the exact conditions where when you actually caught fish and what lure you used. You might find that a particular works better late in the afternoon, or on overcast or drizzly days, or in the morning.
Sometimes when you get a really good fishing session, you want too write everything down because if you come across the same conditions you can look at your fishing journal and see what methods worked best for those conditions.
You just have to experiment a bit and remember what works and what doesn't.
From what you wrote, probably buzz baits or a light spinner bait would be best.
